Job Requirements
- high school diploma or equivalent
- 2 years of experience in retail, supermarket, or warehouse perishable operations
- valid forklift certification
- must be at least 18 years of age
- open shift availability
- valid ServSafe Food Safety Certification
- ability to maintain and complete all required training and certifications
- physical ability to lift up to 30 pounds regularly
- ability to work in temperature extremes and exposure to cleaning agents
- frequent movement, bending, pulling, and reaching
- strong communication and leadership skills
Job Qualifications
- 2 years of experience in retail, supermarket, or warehouse perishable operations
- experience in managing inventory turnover and waste reduction strategies
- forklift certification
- high school diploma required, college degree preferred
- basic computer proficiency including MS Word, Excel, and email
- open shift availability required
- must be at least 18 years of age
- must maintain all training and required certifications
Job Duties
- Own end-of-day execution including recovery, utility, perishables, and overnight prep
- Lead by presence by actively walking the floor during closing hours
- Maintain GOLD standards ensuring greet, anticipate, appreciate and fast, friendly, full, fresh, clean experience until last member exits
- Ensure full-functioning departments through close by validating registers and service areas
- Support issue resolution by resolving or escalating evening member concerns
- Drive in-stock and freshness by monitoring product rotation and merchandising especially perishables
- Conduct quality and date checks regularly to uphold food safety standards
- Enforce sanitation excellence by confirming cleaning checklists and safety procedures
- Manage assistant closing manager and recovery team productivity through scheduling and coaching
- Utilize tools like Hot List, NAFS, electronic reports, and productivity dashboards for execution and task prioritization
- Support audit readiness by ensuring compliance with sanitation and safety documentation
- Champion close to open operational standards to ensure readiness for next day
- Maintain equipment readiness and escalate repairs proactively
- Coach onboarding and certifications including ServSafe and PPE training
- Drive improvement in underperforming areas by reinforcing execution standards
- Partner cross-functionally with club leadership and department leads
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Utilize BJ's MY WORK system for task execution and compliance
- Operate forklift safely and efficiently following protocols
- Maintain regular, predictable, full attendance
