Job Requirements
- high school diploma or general education development (ged)
- graduate from certified medical assistant (cma), emergency medical technician (emt), or certified nursing assistant (cna) program approved by cAAHEP or abhES
- current cma, cna, or emt certification licensed in the state of employment and maintained throughout employment
- minimum of two years office administration experience preferably in medical, acute hospital, rehabilitation hospital, or skilled nursing unit
- demonstrated competency in basic life support (bls)
- proficient in microsoft office (word, excel, outlook)
- good customer, interpersonal and communication skills
- organization and time-management skills
- basic math skills
- attention to details
- ability to maintain confidentiality
- ability to work in fast paced environment and multitask
- ability to work collaboratively in a team
Job Qualifications
- high school diploma or general education development (ged)
- associate's degree preferred
- graduate from a certified medical assistant (cma), emergency medical technician (emt), or certified nursing assistant (cna) program approved by caahep or abhES
- current cma, cna, or emt certification licensed in the state of employment
- minimum of two or more years office administration experience preferably in a medical setting
- prior medical coding experience preferred
- demonstrated competency in basic life support (bls)
- proficient in microsoft office (word, excel, outlook)
- good customer, interpersonal and communication skills both orally and in writing
- organization and time-management skills
- basic math skills
- attention to detail
- ability to maintain confidentiality

Job Duties
- coordinates with center leadership to maximize daily patient census
- actively participates in staff meetings to support key functions within the center
- greets patients and other visitors, answers and routes calls to appropriate staff
- maintains all patient communication needs including scheduling, rescheduling, and appointment reminders
- obtains and verifies patient insurance information, including pre-certifications and pre-authorizations for services
- collects and enters patient charges in databases
- verifies and reconciles charges as directed, prepares monthly patient survey data and documentation, then transmits to providers
- assembles new patient charts, maintains and files existing charts, and spot checks for data completeness and signatures
- coordinates and schedules ancillary testing with other hospital departments
- arranges for patient transportation as needed
- maintains office and medical supplies
- provides wound-related patient care under RN/provider direction
- assists with intake and discharge within scope
- performs hyperbaric oxygen therapy duties as needed after training
- assists in Vein Clinic after training if applicable
- gathers patient information and necessary equipment
- reports quality of care issues to Clinical Nurse Manager
- communicates with team members regarding therapeutic interventions
- functions as documentation assistant (scribe) as needed
- performs other duties as required
