Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in nursing required
- Master's degree in nursing preferred
- Minimum 3-5 years of clinical nursing experience
- Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR)
- Ability to set up virtual meetings and use AV materials
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Commitment to teamwork and collaboration
- Presentation skills for nursing education
- Ability to conduct literature searches
- Willingness to attend educational seminars
- Competent in oral and written communication
- Effective leadership and interpersonal skills
- Basic computer competency
- Completion of a preceptor program and preceptor experience
- Experience as a champion or council participant
Job Qualifications

- Experience participating in councils or as a clinical champion
Job Duties
- Provide direct patient care
- Act as a clinical resource to staff and maintain visibility for just in time learning and patient care assistance
- Precept registered nurses new to the department
- Facilitate onboarding and integration of new employees focusing on retention and growth
- Serve as clinical mentor and role model
- Support nursing role transition and skill mastery
- Collaborate with management to assess education and performance needs
- Drive unit safety, quality outcomes, and patient experience
- Develop and implement competency requirements
- Promote ongoing learning and specialty certification preparation
- Manage education and training processes fostering critical thinking and competence
- Mentor and evaluate preceptors
- Guide nurses in Transition to Practice program and evidence-based projects
- Organize unit in-services for new products and policies
- Lead unit council development and shared decision making
- Promote effective interdisciplinary communication
- Design and evaluate educational programs
- Perform duties safely and report hazards
- Travel as needed within system
- Complete education program documentation
- Assist in Safe Patient Handling skills days
- Standardize educational activities across service lines
