Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in nutrition, dietetics, or equivalent
  • Completion of an ACEND-accredited supervised practice program
  • Registered Dietitian credential required
  • Licensure by state department of Licensing and Regulation if applicable must be obtained within three months of hire
  • Employment contingent on maintaining registration and licensure
  • Preferred food handlers permit
  • Ability to perform nutrition assessments and physical exams
  • Effective communication and counseling skills

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or equivalent
  • Completion of an ACEND-accredited supervised practice program
  • One to two years of hospital clinical nutrition experience preferred
  • Registered Dietitian with the Commission on Dietetic Registration
  • Currently licensed by state department of Licensing and Regulation or obtain within three months of hire if required
  • Possess Food Handlers permit preferred
  • Commitment to obtaining 75 CEUs within five years to meet professional portfolio requirements
  • Employment contingent on continued registration and licensure as a dietitian

Job Duties

  • Perform timely nutrition screenings and assessments in accordance with policy
  • Perform nutrition focused physical exams on patients at nutritional risk
  • Identify patients at nutritional risk based on established criteria
  • Evaluate age specific, developmental, and disease specific nutritional needs of patients
  • Develop and implement individualized nutritional plan of care
  • Evaluate and monitor the effectiveness and outcomes of medical nutrition therapy interventions
  • Provide nutrition education and counseling to patients, family, and/or caregivers
