Job Qualifications
- Experienced veterinary assistant with over 5 years in veterinary medicine including 1-2 years in emergency room settings or licensed technician with over 2 years in ER or high-volume general practice
- committed to growth mindset and continuous improvement
- skilled in communication with team members and patient families with empathy and compassion
- able to use multiple online platforms for task management
- strong attention to detail
- empowered patient advocate
- tenured clinical supervisor or veterinary technician with supervisory experience preferred
- formal training in communication or interpersonal de-escalation preferred
- Fear Free certification preferred
Job Duties
- Maintain and uphold core values and mission statement of MPH
- embody a clinic environment that builds morale and focuses on mentorship and personal growth
- advocate and educate the veterinary community about urgent care services
- manage the online scheduling interface to optimize patient visits
- tele-triage potentially emergent patients to prioritize care
- maximize patient flow and throughput
- support medical staff by aligning incoming cases with their needs
- aid in patient handling, treatments, and diagnostic testing
- field calls from general practice veterinary clinics regarding referred patients
- coordinate with referral emergency hospitals for patient record transfer
- support inventory management with weekly counts and reporting
