Job Requirements
- H.S. diploma or equivalent
- Successful completion of a Medical Assistant education program certified or registered medical assistant required or completion of a Vocational Nurse program required
- Six months of previous healthcare facility clinical experience as LVN, MA, CNA, or patient care experience or completion of internal THR MA externship
- Certified or Registered Medical Assistant or Licensed Vocational Nurse State of Texas upon hire required
- BCLS certification within 30 days of hire required
- THR Urine Drug Collector training within 30 days of hire required
- Previous experience with electronic health record preferred
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of Medical Assistant or Vocational Nurse program
- Certification or registration as Medical Assistant or Licensed Vocational Nurse
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification
- Training in urine drug collection
- Ability to perform phlebotomy and medication administration
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts and float to multiple locations
- Empathy and professionalism in patient care
- Ability to assist providers in clinical procedures
Job Duties
- Collects identification and payor related documentation, conducts registration using EPIC workflow
- Measures and documents vitals and communicates the data to the consumer and provider
- Documents chief complaint, allergies, health history, and current medications accurately in EPIC
- Performs and documents laboratory testing and collections per provider orders, including venipuncture
- Administers and documents oral and intramuscular medication using appropriate medication verification workflow
- Assists provider with procedures including maintaining sterile fields, laceration repair, incision and drainage, and application of ortho-goods
- Behaves professionally and empathetically to build trust and comfort with consumers and guests
- Welcomes consumers and guests with eye contact, smile, greeting, and personal introduction
- Recognizes and notifies provider of emergent patients and assists with emergency care
- Schedules primary care referrals
- Maintains office, medical supplies, and medications at appropriate levels
- Performs quality checks throughout the facility
- Other duties as assigned
