Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Successful completion of a Medical Assistant education program or Vocational Nurse program
  • Certification or registration as a Medical Assistant or Licensed Vocational Nurse from the State of Texas
  • Six months of previous healthcare facility clinical experience as LVN, MA, CNA, or patient care experience or completion of an internal THR MA externship training program
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification maintained every 2 years
  • THR Urine Drug Collector training maintained every 5 years
  • Ability to work full-time, 3-12-hour shifts per week
  • Willingness to float across multiple Texas Health Urgent Care locations

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Successful completion of a Medical Assistant education program or Vocational Nurse program
  • Certification or registration as a Medical Assistant or Licensed Vocational Nurse from the State of Texas
  • Previous healthcare clinical experience as LVN, MA, CNA or patient care experience preferred
  • Experience with electronic health records preferred
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification
  • THR Urine Drug Collector training

Job Duties

  • Collects identification and payor related documentation, conducts registration using EPIC workflow
  • Measures and documents vitals and communicates data to the consumer and provider
  • Documents chief complaint, allergies, health history, and current medications accurately in EPIC
  • Performs and documents laboratory testing and collections including venipuncture
  • Administers and documents oral and intramuscular medication
  • Assists provider with clinical procedures including sterile field maintenance, laceration repair, I&D, ortho-goods and ortho-glass application
  • Behaves professionally and empathetically to build trust and comfort with consumers and their guests
