Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Successful completion of a Medical Assistant education program or Vocational Nurse program
- Certification or registration as a Medical Assistant or Licensed Vocational Nurse from the State of Texas
- Six months of previous healthcare facility clinical experience as LVN, MA, CNA, or patient care experience or completion of an internal THR MA externship training program
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification maintained every 2 years
- THR Urine Drug Collector training maintained every 5 years
- Ability to work full-time, 3-12-hour shifts per week
- Willingness to float across multiple Texas Health Urgent Care locations
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Successful completion of a Medical Assistant education program or Vocational Nurse program
- Certification or registration as a Medical Assistant or Licensed Vocational Nurse from the State of Texas
- Previous healthcare clinical experience as LVN, MA, CNA or patient care experience preferred
- Experience with electronic health records preferred
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification
- THR Urine Drug Collector training
Job Duties
- Collects identification and payor related documentation, conducts registration using EPIC workflow
- Measures and documents vitals and communicates data to the consumer and provider
- Documents chief complaint, allergies, health history, and current medications accurately in EPIC
- Performs and documents laboratory testing and collections including venipuncture
- Administers and documents oral and intramuscular medication
- Assists provider with clinical procedures including sterile field maintenance, laceration repair, I&D, ortho-goods and ortho-glass application
- Behaves professionally and empathetically to build trust and comfort with consumers and their guests
