Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- completion of approved NCT training program
- successful completion of Medical Assistant education program or vocational nurse program
- six months previous healthcare facility clinical experience
- six months previous x-ray experience or completion of internal THR NCT training program
- NCT registered by Texas Medical Board upon hire
- licensed vocational nurse state of Texas if LVN upon hire or other certified or registered Medical Assistant
- BCLS certification within 30 days of hire
- THR urine drug collector training within 30 days of hire
- ability to work PRN across multiple locations
- minimum two shifts per month including one major holiday
- must maintain competency in all assigned positions on rotating basis
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- completion of approved NCT training program
- successful completion of a Medical Assistant education program or vocational nurse program
- six months previous healthcare clinical experience as LVN, MA, CNA, or other patient care
- six months previous x-ray experience or completion of internal THR NCT training program
- NCT registered by Texas Medical Board upon hire
- LVN license from State of Texas if LVN upon hire
- other certified or registered Medical Assistant in lieu of MA education program
- BCLS certification maintained every two years
- THR urine drug collector training
- previous experience with electronic health records, straight-arm x-ray, and orthopedic experience preferred
- previous experience as licensed NCT preferred
Job Duties
- Collects identification and payor related documentation, conducts registration using EPIC workflow
- measures and documents vitals and communicates data to the consumer and provider
- documents chief complaint, allergies, health history, and medications accurately in EPIC
- performs laboratory testing and collections per orders, including venipuncture with competency check-off
- administers and documents oral and intramuscular medication using proper verification workflow
- assists provider with clinical procedures such as sterile field maintenance, laceration repair, I&D, and orthopedic applications
- performs diagnostic x-rays within licensed scope, following protocols and ensuring proper documentation and image transfer
- behaves professionally and empathetically to build trust and comfort with consumers and secondary guests
- welcomes consumers and secondary guests with eye contact, smile, greeting, and personal introduction
- recognizes and notifies provider immediately of emergent patients, performs BLS, provides oxygen administration, and assists in emergency care
- schedules primary care referrals
- maintains office, medical supplies, and medications at appropriate levels
- performs quality checks per policies
- other duties as assigned
