Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- completion of an approved NCT training program
- successful completion of a medical assistant education or vocational nurse program
- minimum 6 months clinical experience in a healthcare facility
- 6 months prior x-ray experience or internal training program completion
- registered NCT by Texas Medical Board upon hire
- licensed vocational nurse license if applicable
- certification or registration as medical assistant if no formal education
- current BCLS certification
- completion of THR urine drug collector training within 30 days after hire
Job Qualifications
- H.S. diploma or equivalent
- completion of approved NCT training program
- successful completion of a medical assistant education program or vocational nurse program
- 6 months previous healthcare facility clinical experience as LVN, MA, CNA, or similar
- 6 months previous x-ray experience or completion of internal THR NCT training
- NCT registered by the Texas Medical Board upon hire
- LVN licensed in the state of Texas if applicable
- other certified or registered medical assistant certification if applicable
- BCLS certification maintained every 2 years
- THR urine drug collector training within 30 days of hire
Job Duties
- Collects identification and payor related documentation, conducts registration using EPIC workflow
- measures and documents vitals and communicates the data to the consumer and provider
- documents chief complaint, allergies, health history, and current medications accurately in EPIC
- performs and documents laboratory testing and collections including venipuncture
- administers and documents oral and intramuscular medication and may perform injections if certified
- assists provider with procedures including maintaining sterile field and laceration repair
- performs diagnostic x-rays and ensures images and reports are properly documented
- behaves professionally and empathetically to build trust with consumers
- welcomes consumers and secondary guests and inquires about the visit purpose
- recognizes and notifies provider of emergent patients and assists in emergency care
- schedules primary care referrals
- maintains office, medical supplies, and medications at appropriate levels
- performs quality checks per policies
- other duties as assigned
