Job Requirements

  • H.S. diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of approved NCT training program
  • Successful completion of a Medical Assistant education program or vocational nurse program
  • 6 months previous health care facility clinical experience as LVN, MA, CNA, or other patient care
  • 6 months previous x-ray experience or completion of internal THR NCT training program
  • Registered Non-Certified Radiology Technician by the Texas Medical Board upon hire
  • Licensed Vocational Nurse State of Texas if LVN upon hire
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification
  • THR Urine Drug Collector training

Job Duties

  • Collects identification and payor related documentation, conducts registration using EPIC workflow
  • Measures and documents vitals and communicates the resulting data to the consumer and provider
  • Documents chief complaint, allergies, health history, and current medications accurately in EPIC
  • Performs and documents laboratory testing and collections per provider orders and standard operating procedures including venipuncture
  • Administers and documents oral and intramuscular medication using appropriate medication verification workflow
  • Assists provider with procedures including maintaining sterile field, laceration repair, incision and drainage, and application of orthopedic goods
  • Performs diagnostic x-rays following established protocols and ensures images are transferred and reported in medical records
  • Welcomes and guides consumers and secondary guests to the center, establishing trust and rapport in line with patient experience standards
  • Recognizes and notifies provider of emergent patients, performs Basic Life Support (BLS), oxygen administration, and assists with emergency care
  • Schedules primary care referrals for consumers
  • Maintains office supplies, medical supplies, and medications at appropriate par levels
  • Performs quality checks per established policies and procedures
  • Other duties as assigned
