Job Requirements

  • H.S. diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of approved NCT training program
  • Successful completion of a Medical Assistant education program or vocational nurse program
  • 6 months previous healthcare facility clinical experience as LVN, MA, CNA, or other patient care
  • 6 months previous x-ray experience or completion of internal THR NCT training
  • NCT registered by Texas Medical Board upon hire
  • LVN license if applicable
  • Other certified or registered medical assistant if applicable
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support certification within 30 days of hire
  • THR Urine Drug Collector training within 30 days of hire
  • Strong customer service attitude
  • Ability to perform BLS and emergency procedures
  • Must maintain competency in all assigned clinical tasks

Job Qualifications

  • H.S. diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of approved NCT training program
  • Successful completion of a Medical Assistant education program or vocational nurse program
  • Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) or Other Certified or Registered Medical Assistant
  • Registered Non-Certified Radiology Technician (NCT) by Texas Medical Board
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification
  • THR Urine Drug Collector training
  • 6 months previous healthcare clinical experience
  • Demonstrated competency in venipuncture and medication administration
  • Experience with electronic health records and x-ray techniques preferred

Job Duties

  • Collects identification and payor related documentation
  • conducts registration using EPIC workflow
  • Measures and documents vitals including temperature, pulse, oxygen saturation, respiration, blood pressure, height, weight, and pain level
  • Documents chief complaint, allergies, health history, and current medications accurately in EPIC
  • Performs and documents laboratory testing and collections per provider orders and standard operating procedures
  • Administers and documents oral and intramuscular medication
  • Assists provider with procedures such as maintaining sterile field, laceration repair, I&D, application of ortho-goods and ortho-glass application
  • Performs diagnostic x-rays and documents completion within licensed scope
  • Behaves professionally and empathetically to build trust and relationships with patients and guests
  • Welcomes patients and guests and inquires about visit purpose
  • Recognizes and notifies provider of emergent patients, performs BLS, provides oxygen administration, assists in emergency care
  • Schedules primary care referrals
  • Maintains office, medical supplies, and medications at appropriate par levels
  • Performs quality checks as per policies
  • Other duties as assigned
