Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of approved NCT training program
  • Successful completion of a Medical Assistant or vocational nurse program
  • Six months clinical healthcare experience
  • Six months x-ray or training program experience
  • Registered NCT license by Texas Medical Board upon hire
  • LVN license if applicable
  • Certification as medical assistant or equivalent
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support certification
  • THR Urine Drug Collector training

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of approved NCT training program
  • Successful completion of a Medical Assistant education program or vocational nurse program
  • Six months previous healthcare facility clinical experience as LVN, MA, CNA, or other patient care roles
  • Six months previous x-ray experience or internal training program completion
  • Licensed by Texas Medical Board as NCT upon hire
  • Licensed Vocational Nurse State of Texas if LVN upon hire
  • Other certified or registered medical assistant recognized
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support certification current
  • THR Urine Drug Collector training
  • Preferred experience with electronic health records, straight-arm x-ray, and orthopedic care

Job Duties

  • Collects identification and payor related documentation, conducts registration using EPIC workflow
  • Measures and documents vitals and communicates the resulting data to the consumer and provider
  • Documents chief complaint, allergies, health history, and current medications accurately in EPIC
  • Performs and documents laboratory testing and collections per provider orders, including venipuncture
  • Administers and documents oral and intramuscular medication using proper verification workflow
  • Assists provider with procedures including maintaining sterile field, laceration repair, incision and drainage, and application of orthopedic goods
  • Performs diagnostic x-rays and documents completion of radiology examinations within licensed scope
  • Behaves professionally and empathetically to build trust and comfort with consumers and guests
