Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of approved NCT training program
- Successful completion of a Medical Assistant or vocational nurse program
- Six months clinical healthcare experience
- Six months x-ray or training program experience
- Registered NCT license by Texas Medical Board upon hire
- LVN license if applicable
- Certification as medical assistant or equivalent
- Basic Cardiac Life Support certification
- THR Urine Drug Collector training
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of approved NCT training program
- Successful completion of a Medical Assistant education program or vocational nurse program
- Six months previous healthcare facility clinical experience as LVN, MA, CNA, or other patient care roles
- Six months previous x-ray experience or internal training program completion
- Licensed by Texas Medical Board as NCT upon hire
- Licensed Vocational Nurse State of Texas if LVN upon hire
- Other certified or registered medical assistant recognized
- Basic Cardiac Life Support certification current
- THR Urine Drug Collector training
- Preferred experience with electronic health records, straight-arm x-ray, and orthopedic care
Job Duties
- Collects identification and payor related documentation, conducts registration using EPIC workflow
- Measures and documents vitals and communicates the resulting data to the consumer and provider
- Documents chief complaint, allergies, health history, and current medications accurately in EPIC
- Performs and documents laboratory testing and collections per provider orders, including venipuncture
- Administers and documents oral and intramuscular medication using proper verification workflow
- Assists provider with procedures including maintaining sterile field, laceration repair, incision and drainage, and application of orthopedic goods
- Performs diagnostic x-rays and documents completion of radiology examinations within licensed scope
- Behaves professionally and empathetically to build trust and comfort with consumers and guests
