Job Requirements

  • H.S. diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of approved NCT training program
  • Successful completion of a Medical Assistant education program or vocational nurse program
  • 6 months previous healthcare facility clinical experience as LVN, MA, CNA, or other patient care
  • 6 months previous x-ray experience or completion of internal THR NCT training
  • Registered NCT by the Texas Medical Board upon hire
  • LVN license if applicable
  • Other certified or registered medical assistant if applicable
  • BCLS certification within 30 days of hire
  • THR Urine Drug Collector training within 30 days of hire

Job Qualifications

  • H.S. diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of approved NCT training program
  • Successful completion of a Medical Assistant education program or vocational nurse program
  • 6 months previous healthcare facility clinical experience as LVN, MA, CNA, or other patient care
  • 6 months experience in x-ray or completion of internal THR NCT training
  • Preferred previous experience as licensed NCT
  • Preferred experience with electronic health records, straight-arm x-ray, and orthopedic experience
  • Registered NCT by the Texas Medical Board upon hire
  • Licensed Vocational Nurse State of Texas if LVN upon hire
  • Other Certified or Registered Medical Assistant if applicable
  • BCLS certification maintained every 2 years
  • THR urine drug collector training maintained every 5 years

Job Duties

  • Collects identification and payor related documentation, conducts registration using EPIC workflow
  • Measures and documents vitals and communicates the resulting data to the consumer and provider, including temperature, pulse, oxygen saturation, respiration, blood pressure, height, weight, and pain level
  • Documents chief complaint, allergies, health history, and current medications accurately in EPIC for review by provider
  • Performs and documents laboratory testing and collections per provider orders and/or standard operating procedures, to include venipuncture with prior competency check-off
  • Administers and documents oral and intramuscular medication with appropriate medication verification workflow
  • Assists provider with procedures including maintaining sterile field, laceration repair, I&D, application of ortho-goods, and ortho-glass application
  • Performs diagnostic x-rays following established protocols ensuring images and communication are transferred to radiology group and reports filed
  • Behaves professionally and empathetically to build trust and comfort with consumers and guests
  • Welcomes consumers and guests with eye contact, smile, greeting, and personal introduction
  • Recognizes and notifies provider of emergent patients, performs BLS, provides oxygen administration, assists in emergency care
  • Schedules primary care referrals
  • Maintains office, medical supplies, and medications at appropriate par levels
  • Performs quality checks per policies and procedures
  • Other duties as assigned
