Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- completion of approved NCT training program
- successful completion of a medical assistant or vocational nurse education program
- six months clinical experience in healthcare facility as LVN, MA, CNA, or other patient care
- six months x-ray experience or completion of THR NCT training program
- registered NCT by Texas Medical Board upon hire
- LVN license if applicable
- BCLS certification maintained every two years
- THR urine drug collector training maintained every five years
- ability to work full time, three 12-hour shifts a week
- ability to float across multiple urgent care locations
- strong communication and customer service skills
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- completion of approved NCT training program
- successful completion of a medical assistant education program or vocational nurse program
- six months previous healthcare facility clinical experience as LVN, MA, or CNA
- six months previous x-ray experience or completion of internal NCT training
- preferred previous experience as licensed NCT
- preferred experience with electronic health record systems, straight-arm x-ray, and orthopedic experience
- registered as NCT by Texas Medical Board upon hire
- licensed vocational nurse if LVN upon hire
- other certified or registered medical assistant in lieu of MA education program
- BCLS certification within 30 days of hire
- THR urine drug collector training within 30 days of hire
Job Duties
- Collects identification and payor related documentation, conducts registration using EPIC workflow
- measures and documents vitals and communicates the resulting data to the consumer and provider
- documents chief complaint, allergies, health history, and current medications in EPIC
- performs and documents laboratory testing and collections including venipuncture
- administers and documents oral and intramuscular medication
- assists provider with procedures including maintaining sterile field, laceration repair, I&D, and application of ortho-goods
- performs diagnostic x-rays following established protocols and ensures proper documentation
- behaves professionally and empathetically to build trust with patients
- welcomes consumers and inquires about the purpose of the visit
- recognizes and notifies provider of emergent patients and assists with emergency care
- schedules primary care referrals
- maintains office and medical supplies
- performs quality checks
- other duties as assigned
