Job Requirements

  • H.S. diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of approved NCT training program
  • Successful completion of a medical assistant education program or vocational nurse program
  • Six months previous healthcare clinical experience as LVN, MA, CNA, or other patient care
  • Six months previous x-ray experience or internal THR NCT training program completion
  • Registered NCT by Texas Medical Board upon hire
  • Licensed vocational nurse State of Texas if LVN upon hire or other certified/registered medical assistant
  • BCLS certification within 30 days of hire
  • THR urine drug collector training within 30 days of hire

Job Qualifications

  • H.S. diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of approved NCT training program
  • Successful completion of a medical assistant education program or vocational nurse program
  • Previous healthcare facility clinical experience as LVN, MA, CNA, or other patient care
  • Previous x-ray experience or completion of internal THR NCT training program
  • NCT registered by the Texas Medical Board upon hire
  • LVN licensed vocational nurse State of Texas upon hire or other certified or registered medical assistant in lieu of MA education
  • BCLS certification maintained every 2 years and required within 30 days of hire
  • THR urine drug collector training maintained every 5 years and required within 30 days of hire

Job Duties

  • Collects identification and payor related documentation, conducts registration using EPIC workflow
  • Measures and documents vitals and communicates to consumer and provider
  • Documents chief complaint, allergies, health history, and current medications accurately in EPIC
  • Performs and documents laboratory testing and collections per provider orders and standard procedures including venipuncture
  • Administers and documents oral and intramuscular medication using appropriate verification workflow
  • Assists provider with procedures including maintaining sterile field, laceration repair, I&D, and application of orthopedic materials
  • Performs diagnostic x-rays and manages radiology image transfer and reporting
  • Welcomes and engages consumers and secondary guests in a professional and empathetic manner
  • Recognizes and immediately notifies provider of emergent patients and assists with emergency care
  • Schedules primary care referrals for consumers
  • Maintains office, medical supplies, and medications at appropriate par levels
  • Performs quality checks throughout the facility
  • Other duties as assigned
