Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Completion of approved NCT training program required
- Successful completion of Medical Assistant education program or vocational nurse program required
- Six months previous healthcare clinical experience required
- Six months previous x-ray experience or internal THR NCT training program completion required
- Registration as NCT by Texas Medical Board required upon hire
- Licensed Vocational Nurse license required if applicable
- Certification or registration as Medical Assistant required unless grandfathered
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) required within 30 days of hire
- THR Urine Drug Collector training required within 30 days of hire
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of approved Non-Certified Radiology Technician (NCT) training program
- Successful completion of Medical Assistant education program or vocational nurse program
- Six months clinical experience in a healthcare setting as LVN, MA, CNA, or other patient care role
- Six months previous x-ray experience or completion of internal THR NCT training program
- Experience with electronic health records, straight-arm x-ray, and orthopedic procedures preferred
- NCT registration by Texas Medical Board upon hire
- Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) State of Texas license upon hire if applicable
- Certification or registration as Medical Assistant if not completing the Medical Assistant education program
- Basic Cardiac Life Support certification maintained every 2 years
- THR Urine Drug Collector training maintained every 5 years
Job Duties
- Provide outstanding customer service as clinical concierge guiding patients and visitors through urgent care experience
- Assist with clinical functions including front and back-office duties working closely with providers and clinical team
- Float across multiple Texas Health Urgent Care locations as needed
- Collect patient identification and payor documentation and conduct registration using EPIC workflow
- Measure and document vital signs including temperature, pulse, oxygen saturation, respiration, blood pressure, height, weight, and pain level
- Document chief complaint, allergies, health history, and medications accurately in EPIC for provider review
- Perform and document laboratory testing and collections including venipuncture
- Administer and document oral and intramuscular medications following medication verification workflow
- Assist provider with procedures such as maintaining sterile field, laceration repair, I&D, and ortho applications
- Perform diagnostic x-rays according to scope of practice and established protocols, ensuring images and reports are accurately recorded and transferred
- Behave professionally and empathetically to build trust and comfort with patients and guests
- Welcome patients and guests with appropriate greetings and personal introductions
- Recognize and notify provider immediately of emergent patients and assist with emergency care including BLS and oxygen administration
- Schedule primary care referrals
- Maintain office, medical supplies, and medications at appropriate par levels
- Perform quality checks throughout the facility as per policies
- Perform other duties as assigned
