Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of approved NCT training program
  • Successful completion of medical assistant education program or vocational nurse program
  • Six months previous clinical experience in a healthcare facility as LVN, MA, CNA, or other patient care role
  • Six months previous x-ray experience or internal training
  • Registration as NCT by Texas Medical Board upon hire
  • LVN licensure if applicable
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support certification
  • THR Urine Drug Collector training
  • Ability to work full-time with three 12-hour shifts
  • Willingness to float across multiple locations
  • Strong communication and customer service skills

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of approved NCT training program
  • Successful completion of medical assistant education program or vocational nurse program
  • Six months previous clinical experience in a healthcare facility as LVN, MA, CNA, or other patient care role
  • Six months previous x-ray experience or completion of internal NCT training
  • Preferred experience as licensed NCT
  • Preferred experience with electronic health records, straight-arm x-ray, and orthopedics
  • Registration as NCT by Texas Medical Board upon hire
  • LVN licensure from the State of Texas if applicable
  • Certification or registration as medical assistant considered
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support certification
  • THR Urine Drug Collector training

Job Duties

  • Collects identification and payor related documentation, conducts registration using EPIC workflow
  • Measures and documents vitals and communicates the resulting data to the consumer and provider, including temperature, pulse, oxygen saturation, respiration, blood pressure, height, weight, and pain level
  • Documents chief complaint, allergies, health history, and current medications accurately in EPIC for review by provider
  • Performs and documents laboratory testing and collections per provider orders and standard operating procedures, including venipuncture with prior competency verification
  • Administers and documents oral and intramuscular medication using the appropriate medication verification workflow
  • Assists provider with procedures including maintaining sterile field, laceration repair, I&D, application of ortho-goods, and ortho-glass application
  • Performs diagnostic x-rays and documents completion within licensed scope of practice, ensuring proper image transfer and reporting
  • Behaves in professional and empathetic manner to build trust and rapport with consumers and guests
  • Recognizes and notifies provider of emergent patients, performs BLS, provides oxygen administration, assists with emergency care
  • Schedules primary care referrals
  • Maintains office supplies, medical supplies, and medications
  • Performs quality checks and other assigned duties
