Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior front desk or clinical experience in a medical setting preferred
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and see them through to completion despite frequent interruptions
  • Familiar with verifying insurance and communicating with insurance companies
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently with little to no supervision
  • Able to maintain strict patient confidentiality and follow HIPAA rules and regulations

  • Preferred- AthenaHealth EMR proficiency

Job Duties

  • Greet patients and visitors warmly, both in person, online, and over the phone
  • Schedule, confirm, and manage patient appointments using the clinic's scheduling system
  • Verify and update patient information, including insurance details, in the EMR
  • Accept co-pays and outstanding balances, providing receipts and maintaining accurate financial records
  • Handle incoming calls and messages, directing inquiries to appropriate staff members and taking detailed messages and other documentation when necessary
  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the reception area, ensuring informational materials are up to date
  • Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, scanning, and data entry as needed
