Job Requirements
- Completion of company orientation upon hire
- food safety and sanitation training upon hire
- ability to function in a fast-paced retail environment performing detailed tasks
- attentive to customer needs
- physical ability to perform department-specific tasks such as reaching, grasping, standing, walking, bending, stooping, squatting, and occasionally lifting items up to 55 lbs
- ability to comply with safety and sanitation regulations
- willingness to adapt duties based on business needs
- must never lift beyond own safe lifting limit and ask for assistance when necessary

Job Duties
- Provides superior customer service
- takes orders from customers by telephone or in person
- answers customer questions regarding products and assists with selections
- prepares, packages, and merchandises fresh product effectively
- slices, packages, labels, rotates, and culls products for poor quality
- assists in technical areas such as basic set-up and clean-up processes
- uses suggestive selling techniques and basic product knowledge to meet customer needs and build department sales
- cleans and sanitizes display cases
- operates and maintains equipment properly
- complies with food safety and sanitation standards
- complies with department and store operating procedures
- records production and shrink in bakery to aid in production planning
- assists in technical areas such as baking, frying, and decorating in bakery
- culls bakery products for poor quality and expiration dates
- takes care of service counter customers in deli
- uses ordering system applications and Fresh Production Planner
- performs inventory management processes
- ensures catering orders are prepared for customer pickup
- performs sanitation and maintenance tasks for deli slicers
- serves and packages prepared foods at customer request
- educates customers on preparation and reheating instructions for prepared foods
- prepackages condiments
- cuts, slices, dices, chops food for chefs
