Job Requirements
- Minimum age 18
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of company orientation
- Completion of food safety and sanitation training upon hire
- Ability to function in a fast-paced retail environment with precise tasks
- Ability to work with customers and stay attentive to their needs
- Ability to perform department-specific physical tasks such as lifting up to 55 lbs
- Ability to comply with food safety and sanitation standards

Job Duties
- Provides superior customer service
- Takes orders from customers by telephone or in person
- Answers customer questions regarding products
- Assists with selections
- Prepares, packages, and merchandises fresh product effectively
- Slices, packages, labels, rotates, and culls products for poor quality
- Assists in technical areas such as basic set-up and clean-up processes
- Uses suggestive selling techniques and basic product knowledge to meet customer needs and build department sales
- Cleans and sanitizes display cases
- Operates and maintains equipment properly
- Complies with H-E-B food safety and sanitation standards
- Complies with department and store operating procedures
- Records production and shrink to aid in production planning (bakery)
- Assists in baking, frying, and decorating (bakery)
- Culls bakery products for poor quality and expiration dates
- Takes care of service counter customers (deli)
- Uses ordering system applications (deli)
- Uses Fresh Production Planner (deli)
- Performs inventory management processes such as MSI and PAW (deli)
- Ensures catering orders are prepared and ready for customer pickup (deli)
- Performs sanitation and maintenance tasks for deli slicers
- Serves and packages prepared foods at customer's request
- Educates customers on preparation and reheating instructions of prepared foods
- Prepackages condiments for prepared food items
- Cuts, slices, dices, chops food in preparation for chef
