Job Duties
- Provide superior customer service
- take orders from customers by telephone or in person
- answer customer questions regarding products and assist with selections
- prepare, package, and merchandise fresh product daily
- slice, package, label, rotate, and cull products for quality
- assist in technical areas such as set-up and clean-up
- use suggestive selling techniques and product knowledge to build sales
- clean and sanitize display cases
- operate and maintain equipment properly
- comply with H-E-B food safety and sanitation standards
- comply with department and store operating procedures
- perform department-specific tasks such as recording production and shrink in bakery
- operate ordering systems and inventory management in deli
- serve and package products in prepared foods
- educate customers on product use
- perform sanitation and maintenance tasks specific to department equipment
