Job Requirements
- minimum age 18
- high school diploma or equivalent
- completion of company orientation and food safety and sanitation training upon hire
- ability to provide superior customer service
- ability to communicate effectively
- ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- capability to perform department-specific physical tasks such as lifting weights up to 55 pounds
- commitment to follow food safety protocols
- ability to use computerized systems for ordering and inventory management

Job Duties
- provide superior customer service
- take orders from customers by telephone or in person
- answer customer questions regarding products
- assist customers with selections
- prepare, package, and merchandise fresh product effectively
- slice, package, label, rotate, and cull products for poor quality
- assist in technical areas such as basic set-up and clean-up processes
- use suggestive selling techniques to meet customer needs and build sales
- clean and sanitize display cases
- operate and maintain equipment properly
- comply with food safety and sanitation standards
- comply with department and store operating procedures
- for bakery - record production and shrink, assist in baking, frying, and decorating, cull bakery products for poor quality and expiration dates
- for deli - take care of service counter customers, use ordering system applications, use Fresh Production Planner, perform inventory management processes, ensure catering orders are prepared for pickup, perform sanitation and maintenance tasks for slicers
- for prepared foods - serve and package products, educate customers on preparation and reheating instructions, prepackage condiments, cut, slice, dice, chop food for chefs
