Job Requirements
- High school diploma or general educational development (G.E.D.) preferred
- 6 months previous cleaning experience preferred, preferably within a healthcare environment
- knowledge of housekeeping cleaning practices preferred
- basic written and verbal communication skills for positive interaction with staff and customers preferred
- able to follow verbal and written directions required
- medium work - exerting up to 50 pounds of force
- able to perform physical activities such as carrying, crouching, distinguishing colors, fingering/touching, grasping, lifting, pulling/pushing, reaching, repetitive motions, speaking/talking, standing, stooping/bending, twisting, and walking
- able to hear and see clearly
- willing to adhere to safety and infection control guidelines
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or general educational development (G.E.D.) preferred
- at least 6 months of cleaning experience, preferably in a healthcare setting
- familiarity with cleaning equipment operation and maintenance
- understanding of chemical use and safety protocols
- effective communication skills for interacting with team members
- ability to follow detailed instructions
- ability to document work in verbal or written form
- commitment to safety and infection control standards
- ability to work night shifts including weekends and holidays
Job Duties
- Clean and service assigned areas of the facility following established procedures to ensure safety and sanitation
- maintain and operate cleaning equipment such as carts, vacuums, buffers, and extractors safely
- mix and use cleaning chemicals and products according to manufacturer directions and department procedures
- sort, stock, and place clean linen into appropriate shelves and exchange carts
- perform daily cleaning of linen storage and distribution areas including disinfecting surfaces and floor care
- report equipment issues, deficiencies, and incomplete tasks to supervisors in a timely manner
- adhere to safety and infection control guidelines and participate in mandatory continuing education and in-services
