Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or general educational development preferred
  • six months previous cleaning experience preferred, preferably within a healthcare environment
  • knowledge of housekeeping cleaning practices preferred
  • basic written and verbal communication skills preferred
  • able to follow verbal and written directions
  • able to exert up to 50 pounds of force
  • able to perform physical activities frequently such as carrying, crouching, fingering, grasping, lifting, pulling, pushing, reaching, repetitive motions, speaking, standing, stooping, twisting, walking
  • able to perform visual and hearing functions
  • knowledgeable about safety and infection control procedures
  • able to participate in mandatory trainings
  • report unsafe conditions immediately

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or general educational development preferred
  • six months previous cleaning experience preferred, preferably within a healthcare environment

Job Duties

  • Clean and service assigned areas of the facility in a timely manner using established procedures to ensure a safe and sanitary environment for patients, customers, and staff
  • maintain and operate equipment safely such as carts, buckets, vacuums, buffers, and extractors
  • promptly report any equipment needing repairs
  • mix and use chemicals and products like disinfectants, glass cleaners, acids, solvents, strippers, finishes according to manufacturer instructions and department protocols
  • sort and place clean linen in appropriate shelves and exchange carts
  • stock linen supply to patient care areas to maintain par levels
  • perform daily cleaning of linen storage and distribution areas including disinfecting surfaces and performing dusting and mopping
  • report any problems, deficiencies, or incomplete linen tasks to team leader or next shift
  • complete verbal or written work assignments and submit them to supervisor
  • adhere to Safety and Infection Control guidelines
  • report any unsafe conditions or accidents immediately
  • participate in mandatory in-services and continuing education programs
  • understand and operationalize the mission, vision, core values, employee standards of behavior, and policies
  • perform other related duties as assigned by management
