Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of initial training course provided by LC Housekeeping before working in regulated environments
  • Ability to read and comprehend written information including Corporate Quality Documents, SOPs, and Safety Guidelines
  • Capable of completing accurate and legible written records in compliance with GMP for documentation that can be audited
  • Ability to operate computer systems to complete required compliance and technical training, download work instructions to handheld computers and document performed work
  • Must be able to stand and walk continuously for extended periods
  • Able to lift, carry, push or pull weights over 20 pounds regularly
  • Experience working with chemicals and in noisy or confined spaces
  • Physical capability to perform repeated bending, stooping, squatting or kneeling

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of initial housekeeping training course at Abbott Lake County site prior to working in regulated environments
  • Ability to read and comprehend corporate quality documents, operating procedures and safety guidelines
  • Proficient in completing accurate and legible GMP-compliant written records
  • Skilled in operating computers and handheld electronic units for compliance and documentation
  • Strong understanding of GMP, SOP, DEA, OSHA, DEP standards and Abbott cleaning protocols

Job Duties

  • Perform facility cleaning and support required for manufacturing and research environment
  • Follow regulated cleaning procedures daily in production laboratories, manufacturing support laboratories, research laboratories, and common support areas
  • Implement cross-contamination cleaning methods for radioactive or biohazardous areas
  • Prepare radioactive and biohazard housekeeping equipment for autoclaving or disposal
  • Monitor waste for radioactive contamination and identify biohazardous waste
  • Complete GMP documentation including attestation logs, work orders, and training documents
  • Operate handheld electronic documentation units to ensure GMP compliance
  • Prepare cleaning solutions based on regulated GMP mixing instructions
  • Perform microbial control cleaning techniques on walls, ceilings and floors as per GMP guidelines
  • Complete preventive maintenance work orders for housekeeping equipment
  • Operate wet/dry battery and electric cleaning equipment, including walk-behind or ride-on floor scrubbers, sweepers and burnishers
  • Perform preventive maintenance on equipment such as battery maintenance and squeegee adjustments
  • Support recycling programs by staging and preparing recyclable materials for transport
  • Operate baling and compacting equipment
