Job Duties
- Performs a variety of cleaning tasks in assigned areas
- collects and empties trash and recycling in accordance with cleaning schedules
- cleans and/or removes hazardous or misplaced items, waste, and spills
- assembles cleaning carts according to assigned tasks
- prepares, mixes, and dilutes cleaning solutions following manufacturer directions
- washes floors, corridors, stairwells, walls, partitions, and windows using mops, detergents, brushes, and other cleaning devices
- vacuums, strips and waxes floors, and shampoos carpets using manual or mechanical equipment
- scrubs and cleans showers and restrooms, including toilets, sinks, and drains
- replaces light bulbs, and dusts or washes light fixtures and high places
- polishes wood and metal surfaces, fixtures, furniture, and equipment
- monitors cleaning supplies and equipment, notifying supervisor of supply levels, equipment malfunction, and/or maintenance issues
- replaces, cleans, and/or hangs building fixtures and decorative items
- moves and arranges furniture and equipment for cleaning tasks or events
- may follow specialized disinfectant and waste disposal standards
- remove snow and salt walkways
- clean sidewalks, drives, and grounds
- mow lawns
- perform routine laundry tasks
- change bed linens
