Job Requirements
- Criminal background check prior to employment
- Physical exam and TB screening test showing no tuberculosis within 30 days of employment
- Completion of SIDS and Shaken Baby Training prior to working with children
- Completion of Fire Extinguisher Training
- Proof of certification in Infant/Child CPR and First Aid within 30 days of employment
- Registration in the State Childcare registry
Job Qualifications
- Be 21 years of age or older
- Hold Infant and Toddler CDA or equivalent credential for infant and toddler classroom
- Have training or equivalent coursework in early childhood development focused on infants and toddlers
- Prefer teaching experience with children ages 0-5
- Possess strong oral and written communication skills
- Prefer bilingual in Spanish and English
- Have basic computer skills including data entry and internet use
- Have reliable transportation
- Hold a valid driver’s license with adequate car insurance
- Be able to work flexible or irregular hours with some travel
Job Duties
- Schedule complete and track all required home visits and parent teacher conferences
- Schedule and complete child developmental screenings and assessments
- Ensure collection of and timely online entry of classroom observations and documentations
- Complete assessment finalization checkpoints for all children within specified timeframes
- Use assessment results to create or update individualized plans with parents
- Plan and implement indoor and outdoor learning environments and experiences
- Implement daily activity plans including field trips and transition activities
- Submit completed documents to the Child Development Coordinator timely
- Implement Individual Education Plan or Individual Family Service Plan for children with disabilities
- Maintain required documentation including child rosters and case notes
- Maintain communication with families capturing ongoing dialog
- Maintain and document the Child Adult Care Food Program in compliance with regulations
- Implement required health and safety policies including storage of hazardous materials and injury prevention
- Participate in weekly generation and collection of in-kind non-federal shares
- Use positive guidance strategies to promote positive behaviors
- Conduct direct sight and sound supervision of all children at all times
- Assist with arrival and departure coordination and communication
- Attend all staff meetings, trainings, and center activities
- Assist in training or supporting other teaching staff
- Perform other assigned duties
