Job Requirements

  • MN Department of Health Certified Food Protection Manager Certificate or ability to obtain within 90 days of hiring date
  • Membership in School Nutrition Association
  • Two years work experience in school food service or related operation
  • Ability to meet physical demands including lifting up to 40 pounds
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Basic computer skills
  • Organizational skills

Job Qualifications

  • MN Department of Health Certified Food Protection Manager Certificate or ability to obtain within 90 days of hiring date
  • Membership in School Nutrition Association and Level 4 completion within 90 days from date of hire
  • Two years work experience in school food service or in a related food service operation
  • Supervisory experience preferred
  • Evidence of good organizational skills
  • Basic computer skills
  • Strong communication skills and interpersonal skills as applied to interaction to coworkers, supervisor, the general public
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the position including the ability to lift up to 40 pounds

Job Duties

  • Supervise the daily meal preparation and service in accordance with Federal, State and local safety and sanitation regulations
  • Collect information and maintain operational records, including daily food production records, inventory records, daily temperature logs and quality assurance forms
  • Provide supervision over the kitchen staff, including completing performance reviews, maintaining absence logs, inspecting work stations, and training new staff
  • Assist in menu planning, forecasting participation rates, and food ordering
  • Oversee the receiving and storage of the building's food and supplies
  • Attend monthly Team Leaders' meetings
  • Cover for the MHS A La Carte and Special Events Manager in their absence
  • Perform other duties of a similar nature or level
