Job Requirements
- must be 21 years or older
- meet all state licensing and certification requirements
- clean motor vehicle record for past 3 years
- pass post-offer drug test and criminal background check
- pass road test
- current or ability to obtain valid DOT health card
- physically able to hand-lift and use equipment to move product cases ranging from 10 to 90 pounds throughout shift
Job Qualifications
- high school diploma or GED equivalent
- minimum 12 months CDL-B commercial driving experience
- valid CDL-B license
- knowledge of DOT regulations and safety standards
- ability to operate hand-lifts, two-wheelers, and lift gates
- strong communication and customer service skills
- experience with onboard computer systems and electronic logs preferred
- familiarity with hand-held point of delivery scanning systems preferred
Job Duties
- perform all required safety checks including pre and post trip inspections of tractor and trailer according to DOT regulations
- report all safety issues and repairs required
- follow all DOT regulations and company safe driving guidelines and policies
- perform count check of loaded items and verify customer invoices
- complete all required paperwork accurately and legibly
- drive to and deliver customer orders following predetermined route schedules
- unload products and transport items to designated customer storage areas
- perform damage control checks and contact supervisor as necessary
- verify delivery with customer and obtain signatures
- collect payments where required
- load customer returns and secure trailer doors
- ensure tractor, trailer, and freight are properly secured
- unload damaged goods and complete necessary paperwork
- complete daily hours of service records and logs according to federal and state requirements
- maintain cleanliness of tractor, loading dock, and trailers
- secure equipment and complete paperwork at shift end
- perform other related duties as assigned
