Job Requirements

  • must be 21 years or older
  • meet all state licensing and certification requirements
  • clean motor vehicle record for past 3 years
  • pass post-offer drug test and criminal background check
  • pass road test
  • current or ability to obtain valid DOT health card
  • physically able to hand-lift and use equipment to move product cases ranging from 10 to 90 pounds throughout shift

Job Qualifications

  • high school diploma or GED equivalent
  • minimum 12 months CDL-B commercial driving experience
  • valid CDL-B license
  • knowledge of DOT regulations and safety standards
  • ability to operate hand-lifts, two-wheelers, and lift gates
  • strong communication and customer service skills
  • experience with onboard computer systems and electronic logs preferred
  • familiarity with hand-held point of delivery scanning systems preferred

Job Duties

  • perform all required safety checks including pre and post trip inspections of tractor and trailer according to DOT regulations
  • report all safety issues and repairs required
  • follow all DOT regulations and company safe driving guidelines and policies
  • perform count check of loaded items and verify customer invoices
  • complete all required paperwork accurately and legibly
  • drive to and deliver customer orders following predetermined route schedules
  • unload products and transport items to designated customer storage areas
  • perform damage control checks and contact supervisor as necessary
  • verify delivery with customer and obtain signatures
  • collect payments where required
  • load customer returns and secure trailer doors
  • ensure tractor, trailer, and freight are properly secured
  • unload damaged goods and complete necessary paperwork
  • complete daily hours of service records and logs according to federal and state requirements
  • maintain cleanliness of tractor, loading dock, and trailers
  • secure equipment and complete paperwork at shift end
  • perform other related duties as assigned
