The position available is for a CDL-A Delivery Driver, a crucial role within PFG Customized Distribution's operation. This role involves operating tractor trailers or straight trucks to deliver food and food-related products safely and punctually to customers. The driver will primarily handle intrastate and interstate routes, including local deliveries, over-the-road (OTR), shuttle services, and drive and drop routes. This position requires flexible scheduling, including overnight shifts, with the benefit of being home weekly. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum 12 months commercial driving experience
  • Valid CDL-A license
  • Age 21 or older
  • Meet state licensing and certification requirements
  • Clean driving record for the past three years
  • Pass drug test and background check
  • Pass road test
  • Possess or obtain DOT health card
  • Ability to hand-lift and use equipment to move product cases weighing between 10 and 90 pounds
  • Available for overnight shifts
  • Must be home weekly

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 12+ months commercial driving experience
  • Valid CDL-A license
  • Must be 21+ years of age
  • Meet all state licensing and/or certification requirements where applicable
  • Clean motor vehicle report for past 3 years
  • Pass post offer drug test and criminal background check
  • Pass road test
  • Attain or have valid current DOT health card or able to secure one
  • Able to hand-lift and utilize two-wheeler, lift gate, and other equipment to move and stack product cases/freight of varying sizes and weights

Job Duties

  • Communicates and interacts with customers, vendors and co-workers professionally ensuring questions are answered accurately and in a timely manner
  • Functions as a team member within the department and organization as required and perform any duty assigned to best serve the company
  • Performs all required safety checks including inspections of tractor/truck and trailer according to Department of Transportation regulations
  • Reports all safety issues and/or repairs required
  • Follows all DOT regulations and company safe driving guidelines and policies
  • Immediately reports all safety hazards
  • Inspects trailer for properly loaded and secured freight
  • Performs count check of items and check customer invoices of products that have been loaded
  • Checks and completes all required paperwork associated with freight accurately and legibly
  • Moves tractor to loading dock and attaches preloaded trailer as needed
  • Drives to and delivers customer orders according to predetermined route delivery schedule
  • Unloads products from trailer and transports items into designated customer storage areas
  • Performs damage control checks on items, scans, and contacts supervisor about removing orders
  • Verifies delivery of items with customer and obtains proper signatures
  • Collects money where required
  • Loads customer returns onto trailer and secures trailer doors
  • Ensures tractor, trailer, and freight are appropriately locked and/or always secured
  • Unloads damaged goods and customer returns and completes necessary paperwork
  • Completes daily record of hours of service and logs in accordance with federal DOT, state, and company requirements
  • Performs general housekeeping duties in tractor, loading dock area and keeps trailers clear and clean
  • Secures all equipment and completes all necessary paperwork at end of shift
  • Performs other related duties as assigned
