Job Requirements

  • Valid CDL A
  • At least 12 months commercial driving experience
  • High school diploma or GED or state approved equivalent
  • Must be 21 years of age
  • Clean motor vehicle report for past 3 years
  • Pass post offer drug test and criminal background check
  • Pass road test
  • Valid current DOT Health Card or able to secure new DOT Health Card
  • Able to hand-lift and utilize equipment to move product cases and freight of varying size and weight
  • Ability to comply with DOT regulations and company policies
  • Physically capable of performing manual lifting and freight handling duties
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Willingness to work early morning shifts and vary routes as needed

Job Qualifications

  • Must be 21 years of age
  • Clean motor vehicle report (MVR) for past 3 years
  • Pass post offer drug test and criminal background check
  • Pass road test
  • Valid current DOT Health Card or able to secure new DOT Health Card
  • Able to hand-lift and utilize equipment to move and stack product cases of varying size and weight

Job Duties

  • Communicates and interacts with customers, vendors and co-workers professionally ensuring questions are answered accurately and in a timely manner
  • Functions as a team member within the department and organization as required and perform any duty assigned to best serve the company
  • Performs all required safety checks (pre/post trip) including inspections of tractor/truck and trailer according to DOT regulations
  • Reports all safety issues and/or repairs required
  • Follows all DOT regulations and company safe driving guidelines and policies
  • Inspects trailer for properly loaded and secured freight
  • Performs count check of items and checks customer invoices of products loaded
  • Completes in an accurate and legible manner all required paperwork associated with freight
  • Moves tractor to loading dock and attaches preloaded trailer as needed
  • Drives to and delivers customer orders according to predetermined route delivery schedule
  • Unloads products from the trailer and transports items into designated customer storage areas
  • Performs damage control checks on items, scans and contacts supervisor about removing orders
  • Verifies delivery of items with customer and obtains proper signatures
  • Collects money where required
  • Loads customer returns on trailer and secures trailer doors
  • Ensures that tractor, trailer and freight are appropriately locked and secured
  • Unloads damaged goods and customer returns and completes necessary paperwork
  • Completes daily record of hours of service and enters in log according to Federal DOT, state and company requirements
  • Performs general housekeeping duties and keeps trailers clear and clean
  • Secures all equipment and completes all necessary paperwork at end of shift
