- Previous experience as a prep cook or in a similar kitchen role preferred
- Food handler's certification or equivalent food safety training preferred
- Familiarity with commercial kitchen equipment and tools preferred
- Strong communication skills and a positive attitude towards teamwork preferred
- Experience working in a fast-paced hospitality or restaurant environment preferred
Job Duties
- Prepare and measure ingredients according to recipes and instructions from chefs
- Wash, peel, chop, and portion vegetables, fruits, meats, and other food items
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the prep area, including sanitizing surfaces and equipment
- Assist in receiving and storing deliveries, ensuring proper rotation and storage of food items
- Follow all food safety and hygiene regulations to maintain a safe kitchen environment
- Support kitchen staff during busy periods by performing additional tasks as needed
- Dispose of waste properly and assist in maintaining overall kitchen sanitation standards
