  • previous experience as a prep cook or in a similar kitchen role
  • food handler’s certification or equivalent food safety training
  • familiarity with commercial kitchen equipment and tools
  • strong communication skills and a positive attitude towards teamwork
  • experience working in a fast-paced hospitality or restaurant environment

Job Duties

  • Prepare and measure ingredients according to recipes and instructions from chefs
  • wash, peel, chop, and portion vegetables, fruits, meats, and other food items
  • maintain cleanliness and organization of the prep area, including sanitizing surfaces and equipment
  • assist in receiving and storing deliveries, ensuring proper rotation and storage of food items
  • follow all food safety and hygiene regulations to maintain a safe kitchen environment
  • support kitchen staff during busy periods by performing additional tasks as needed
  • dispose of waste properly and assist in maintaining overall kitchen sanitation standards
