- previous experience as a prep cook or in a similar kitchen role
- food handler’s certification or equivalent food safety training
- familiarity with commercial kitchen equipment and tools
- strong communication skills and a positive attitude towards teamwork
- experience working in a fast-paced hospitality or restaurant environment
Job Duties
- Prepare and measure ingredients according to recipes and instructions from chefs
- wash, peel, chop, and portion vegetables, fruits, meats, and other food items
- maintain cleanliness and organization of the prep area, including sanitizing surfaces and equipment
- assist in receiving and storing deliveries, ensuring proper rotation and storage of food items
- follow all food safety and hygiene regulations to maintain a safe kitchen environment
- support kitchen staff during busy periods by performing additional tasks as needed
- dispose of waste properly and assist in maintaining overall kitchen sanitation standards
