Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in kitchen or sanitation roles preferred
- Ability to follow safety and sanitation guidelines
- Physical capacity to lift up to 75 lbs occasionally and stand for long periods
- Reliable attendance and punctuality
- Ability to communicate clearly in English
- Willingness to handle multiple tasks and work in a physically demanding environment
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Prior experience in food service or custodial work is an asset
- Knowledge of proper sanitation and cleaning techniques
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Good communication skills to interact with residents, visitors, and staff
- Ability to follow health and safety regulations
- Physically able to lift and carry heavy items up to 75 lbs occasionally
- Ability to stand for extended periods and work in varying environmental conditions
- Basic understanding of English for reading and writing work-related documents
Job Duties
- Washes dishes, utensils, trays, and cooking supplies using proper sanitation procedures
- Pulls trash from trash receptacles
- replaces trash bags as needed
- clears trash from tables and floors/grounds
- Cleans floor area of any spillage of water, detergent, and/or food stuffs per safety and sanitation guidelines
- Loads and unloads inventory from trucks
- stocks storeroom
- Maintains the kitchen, serving, and dining areas in clean and orderly condition at all times by sweeping, mopping, emptying trash, wiping counters and equipment, and organizing shelves
- Performs light food preparation work such as washing and peeling fruits and vegetables
- Transports food carts to and from designated serving areas
- Demonstrates regular and reliable attendance
- Communicates effectively with staff and residents in a fast-paced kitchen environment
