  • High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
  • one year clerical training or basic clerical experience
  • must pass a background check

  • knowledge of basic general office practices and procedures
  • knowledge of basic English composition, spelling and grammar
  • knowledge of modern office equipment including computers
  • knowledge of customer service practices
  • knowledge of basic business math
  • ability to apply general phone practices and protocols
  • ability to perform alpha-numeric filing
  • ability to communicate effectively with other employees using tact, courtesy and good judgment
  • ability to continue to develop excellent customer skills
  • ability to operate standard office equipment
  • ability to perform accurate data entry
  • ability to follow instructions and independently perform routine tasks once learned
  • ability to perform basic keyboarding, word processing, and data entry

Job Duties

  • Performs routine sorting and distribution of mail
  • assists with mass mailings as directed
  • answers telephone calls and takes messages
  • answers routine questions providing readily available information
  • accesses computer for readily available information
  • may perform routine data entry to update records
  • operates standard office equipment with minimum instructions
  • accepts, receipts and tracks small cash payments
  • performs basic mathematical calculations
  • sets up, updates, files, and retrieves records as instructed
  • types and completes routine forms, form letters, and labels
  • may run established reports as directed
  • schedules rooms and appointments
  • performs other related duties as assigned
