Job Requirements
- Experience with institutional cooking
- Ability to work with a team or on own initiative
- A positive attitude and commitment to high standards in food quality and kitchen cleanliness
- An understanding that the ministry of St. Luke's is an ever growing, ever changing environment and will work to accommodate all requests not covered below
- Willing and able to abide by St. Luke's values and guiding principles
- Service and hospitality driven
- Full-time availability Monday through Friday 7am to approximately 2pm with flexibility for event hours
- Ability to lift 80 lbs. plus
- Must pass background check
- Provide three professional references
Job Qualifications
- Certification or degree in Culinary Arts
- Experience with institutional cooking
- Ability to manage kitchen operations effectively
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to work in a team or independently
- Positive attitude and commitment to food quality and cleanliness
- Good communication and hospitality skills
Job Duties
- Prepare and serve children's center breakfast, lunches, and afternoon snacks Monday through Friday
- Clean up kitchen, wash dishes and set up for the next day's service
- Assist with preparation, cooking, and serving at church-sponsored and community events
- Perform daily, weekly, and monthly kitchen cleaning and maintenance
- Manage food rotation, kitchen organization, ordering, and checking in food supplies
- Fill out federal food paperwork daily
- Perform other reasonable tasks or functions as requested
- Assist with overseeing contract staff when applicable
