Job Requirements

  • Experience with institutional cooking
  • Ability to work with a team or on own initiative
  • A positive attitude and commitment to high standards in food quality and kitchen cleanliness
  • An understanding that the ministry of St. Luke's is an ever growing, ever changing environment and will work to accommodate all requests not covered below
  • Willing and able to abide by St. Luke's values and guiding principles
  • Service and hospitality driven
  • Full-time availability Monday through Friday 7am to approximately 2pm with flexibility for event hours
  • Ability to lift 80 lbs. plus
  • Must pass background check
  • Provide three professional references

Job Qualifications

  • Certification or degree in Culinary Arts
  • Experience with institutional cooking
  • Ability to manage kitchen operations effectively
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work in a team or independently
  • Positive attitude and commitment to food quality and cleanliness
  • Good communication and hospitality skills

Job Duties

  • Prepare and serve children's center breakfast, lunches, and afternoon snacks Monday through Friday
  • Clean up kitchen, wash dishes and set up for the next day's service
  • Assist with preparation, cooking, and serving at church-sponsored and community events
  • Perform daily, weekly, and monthly kitchen cleaning and maintenance
  • Manage food rotation, kitchen organization, ordering, and checking in food supplies
  • Fill out federal food paperwork daily
  • Perform other reasonable tasks or functions as requested
  • Assist with overseeing contract staff when applicable
