Job Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalency
- Food Service Sanitation Manager Certification required
- Two years of experience working in a kitchen in an institutional setting
- Knowledge of nutrition and economical, quality, food preparation
- Ability to plan and prepare balanced meals for children
- Experience using and maintaining kitchen equipment
- Ability to maintain cleanliness and follow licensing regulations

Job Duties
- Plans and prepares a nutritiously balanced lunch each day for the Child and Family Development Center
- Responsible for ordering, purchasing and receiving food and kitchen supplies and in assuring that all orders are correctly filled and stored
- When necessary, goes to market, discount stores, etc. to purchase supplies at the best price available
- Keeps the kitchen clean and in compliance with licensing
- Operates kitchen equipment (stove, dishwasher, mixer, Cuisinart, etc.)
- Is responsive to client and staff questions and suggestions about food and when possible, to particular individual needs
- Responds to agency needs by performing assigned tasks which do not fall within the above description
