Job Requirements

  • Graduation from high school or equivalent
  • Sufficient training and experience to demonstrate knowledge and abilities related to food service operations
  • Ability to lift moderately heavy objects and stand for extended periods
  • Willingness to work in a school cafeteria and kitchen environment
  • Ability to follow health and safety regulations and sanitation protocols
  • Ability to perform simple math calculations and handle money accurately
  • Willingness to learn and operate various kitchen and cafeteria equipment

Job Qualifications

  • Graduation from high school or equivalent
  • Knowledge of sanitation and safety procedures related to food preparation and serving
  • Ability to operate standard kitchen equipment safely
  • Basic food preparation skills including washing cutting and assembling food
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions
  • Good interpersonal skills to work cooperatively with others
  • Basic math skills to handle money and measurements

Job Duties

  • Prepare wash and cut vegetables fruits and other foods for cooking
  • Set up serving area and serve food to students faculty and other personnel according to established schedules
  • Maintain work areas and serving areas in a sanitary manner clean serving counter tables benches food containers and other equipment wash pots and pans utensils and other serving equipment store kitchen equipment
  • Operate a variety of standard kitchen equipment including slicer chopper mixer steamer fryer dishwasher warmer oven and others
  • Weigh and measure portions for serving count number of items on hand and number sold
  • Sell lunch tickets and food items as assigned collect monies make change and maintain simple records
  • Prepare or assist in preparing salads desserts sandwiches and beverages as assigned
  • Pack food for transport to satellite schools as assigned
  • Assist other food service personnel as assigned
  • Perform related duties as assigned
