Job Requirements
- Graduation from high school or equivalent
- Sufficient training and experience to demonstrate knowledge and abilities related to food service operations
- Ability to lift moderately heavy objects and stand for extended periods
- Willingness to work in a school cafeteria and kitchen environment
- Ability to follow health and safety regulations and sanitation protocols
- Ability to perform simple math calculations and handle money accurately
- Willingness to learn and operate various kitchen and cafeteria equipment
Job Qualifications
- Graduation from high school or equivalent
- Knowledge of sanitation and safety procedures related to food preparation and serving
- Ability to operate standard kitchen equipment safely
- Basic food preparation skills including washing cutting and assembling food
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions
- Good interpersonal skills to work cooperatively with others
- Basic math skills to handle money and measurements
Job Duties
- Prepare wash and cut vegetables fruits and other foods for cooking
- Set up serving area and serve food to students faculty and other personnel according to established schedules
- Maintain work areas and serving areas in a sanitary manner clean serving counter tables benches food containers and other equipment wash pots and pans utensils and other serving equipment store kitchen equipment
- Operate a variety of standard kitchen equipment including slicer chopper mixer steamer fryer dishwasher warmer oven and others
- Weigh and measure portions for serving count number of items on hand and number sold
- Sell lunch tickets and food items as assigned collect monies make change and maintain simple records
- Prepare or assist in preparing salads desserts sandwiches and beverages as assigned
- Pack food for transport to satellite schools as assigned
- Assist other food service personnel as assigned
- Perform related duties as assigned
