Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • previous volume-feeding experience in an institutional or educational setting preferred
  • ServSafe certification required
  • ability to stand for long periods
  • ability to lift heavy objects regularly
  • ability to work in hot environments

  • physical capability to perform repetitive tasks with minimal breaks

Job Qualifications

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • previous volume-feeding experience in institutional, restaurant or educational environment preferred
  • knowledge of food preparation, general cooking, food storage, cleaning procedures and meal service
  • ServSafe certification

  • ability to work harmoniously with team members
  • strong customer service skills

Job Duties

  • Prepares school breakfasts, lunches, and afternoon snacks
  • withdraws and prepares appropriate amounts of food from inventory daily as directed
  • adheres to standardized recipes
  • sets up serving line and breakfast carts ensuring all menu items are properly placed, in correct amounts, at correct temperatures and on time
  • uses serving utensils correctly to serve accurate portions
  • implements Offer Versus Serve (OVS) for breakfast and lunch
  • serves students quickly and efficiently
  • provides outstanding customer service
  • follows local health department requirements for food safety
  • monitors and records temperatures of freezers, refrigerators, and milk coolers
  • takes and records food temperatures to ensure proper cooking and chilling
  • performs general cleaning and follows cleaning schedules
  • adheres to wash, rinse, and sanitize procedures for ware washing
  • assists in ensuring security of food and supplies
  • receives and stocks deliveries following food storage procedures
  • assists in inventory management
  • maintains compliance with all program regulations
  • ensures meals meet reimbursable requirements
  • maintains records and reports for USDA and local compliance
  • operates and maintains commercial kitchen equipment safely
  • reports equipment malfunctions
  • communicates effectively with supervisors and coworkers
  • performs other duties as assigned
