Job Requirements
- Graduation from high school or equivalent
- one year experience in quantity food preparation and kitchen maintenance
- ability to operate standard kitchen equipment safely
- knowledge of sanitary food handling procedures
- basic math skills for handling money
- good communication skills
- ability to work collaboratively within a team

Job Duties
- Prepare, cook and serve breakfast and lunch items according to established daily menus
- receive and unload food items transported from the central kitchen
- box, bag and apportion food for serving
- set up serving areas
- serve food to students, teachers and other personnel
- maintain work area and serving areas in a sanitary manner
- clean serving counter, tables, benches, food containers and other equipment
- wash pots and pans, utensils and other serving equipment
- store kitchen equipment
- operate a variety of standard kitchen equipment including slicer, chopper, mixer, fryer, warmer, oven and other equipment
- sell lunch tickets and food items as directed
- make change and count monies
- record amounts of food sold and monies collected
- communicate with site and District personnel regarding kitchen maintenance, equipment repair, food deliveries and meal counts
- assist with inventory and assure that food is stored properly
- order, receive, rotate and store food deliveries
- prepare food for related child nutrition programs
- perform related duties as assigned
