Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • experience in food service or cashiering preferred
  • ability to operate kitchen equipment
  • knowledge of food safety and sanitation procedures
  • ability to accurately handle cash and data entry
  • good communication skills
  • ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods
  • physical ability to lift and carry weights up to 50 pounds

Job Qualifications

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • experience in food service or cashiering preferred
  • ability to operate kitchen equipment safely
  • knowledge of food safety and sanitation procedures
  • strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling monetary transactions and data entry
  • good communication and teamwork skills
  • ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods
  • physical ability to lift and carry up to 20 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally with assistance

Job Duties

  • perform cashier functions during meal service
  • record daily meal data accurately in Nutrition Services meal accounting system
  • prepare sales transaction documents and daily activity reports
  • reconcile receipts to meal counts and prepare money for daily bank deposits
  • assist cook-manager with preparing and assembling food portions according to menu
  • operate dishwashing and washing machines and other kitchen equipment
  • clean and sanitize kitchen equipment and utensils
  • serve food items to students and staff as assigned
  • maintain a neat and clean work environment
  • follow proper safety and sanitation procedures
  • participate in professional development activities
  • attend training meetings
  • perform related duties as assigned
