Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- At least three months (455 hours) of verified experience in child care and supervision of four or more children over age four
- Prior experience in an after-school setting preferred
- Ability to motivate and manage youth behavior
- Strong communication skills with youth and parents
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and follow mandated reporting
- Must pass criminal and driving records investigations and reference checks
- Flexibility and adaptability
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Commitment to supporting academic success, good character, citizenship, and healthy lifestyles
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- At least three months (455 hours) of verified experience in the care and supervision of four or more children over the age of four
- Prior experience working in an after-school setting is highly preferred
- Bilingual Spanish speaking is highly preferred
- Ability to motivate youth and manage behavior issues
- Demonstrated ability to communicate about sensitive subjects with youth and parents comfortably and without judgement
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with mandated reporting requirements
Job Duties
- Ensure the physical and emotional safety of youth at all times
- Serve as a positive role model and mentor, guiding behavior and supporting healthy development
- Establish, model, and uphold consistent behavior expectations and consequences
- Develop, prepare, and lead age-appropriate daily programs and activities
- Promote participation and engagement while supporting positive youth development
- Monitor activities to ensure safety, quality, and a welcoming environment
- Maintain accurate daily attendance records
- Assist with food service following Food Bank and Health Department guidelines
- Support and guide other Club Staff with daily programming
- Communicate regularly with the Site Director and Staff regarding Club operations
- Step into day-to-day Club leadership in the absence of the Site Director
- Assist with parent communication as needed
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized program space
- Participate in special events, field trips, and unit activities
- Attend weekly unit meetings
- Support new Club Member registration and orientation
- Perform other duties as assigned
