Job Requirements
- Work experience in cooking and or food preparation for multiple individuals in a childcare facility, preferred
- Willingness to learn and adhere to all current state and local regulations
- Flexibility as to the hours and schedule of work
- Ability to maintain cleanliness and safety standards in the kitchen
- Ability to follow instructions and work collaboratively with childcare staff
- Commitment to promoting a healthy and safe environment for children
- Ability to perform physical tasks associated with food preparation and kitchen maintenance
Job Qualifications
- Experience in cooking or food preparation for groups, preferably in a childcare setting
- Knowledge of nutritional requirements for children
- Ability to follow state and local health and safety regulations
- Strong organizational skills for inventory management
- Ability to assist in classroom activities as needed
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Willingness to learn and adapt to changing menus and schedules
Job Duties
- Prepare nutritious and home-style meals and snacks for children and staff according to menu and budget
- Ensure all food preparation complies with USDA, state licensing, and health department regulations
- Adapt to menu changes and maintain meal and snack schedules
- Maintain food inventory and order supplies as needed to ensure consistent availability
- Assist classrooms as an Assistant Teacher or Floater when necessary
- Follow health and safety protocols in the kitchen and dining areas
- Support a positive and fun workplace culture by engaging with colleagues and contributing to team efforts
