Job Requirements
- Work experience in cooking and/or food preparation for multiple individuals in a childcare facility preferred
- A willingness to learn and adhere to all current state and local regulations
- Flexibility as to the hours and schedule of work
Job Qualifications
- Work experience in cooking or food preparation in a childcare facility preferred
- Knowledge of USDA and health department nutritional guidelines
- Ability to adhere to regulatory requirements
- Strong organizational skills
- Good communication and teamwork abilities
- Willingness to assist in classroom activities
- Basic food safety certification preferred
Job Duties
- Create home-style, nutritional meal plans within menu and budget constraints
- Prepare meals and snacks for children and staff
- Distribute food to classrooms
- Follow daily menus that comply with USDA, licensing, and health department regulations
- Maintain food and supply inventory and place orders as needed
- Assist in classrooms as an Assistant Teacher or Floater
- Adapt to menu changes and meet meal and snack schedules
