Job Requirements

  • Be 18 years of age
  • possess a high school diploma or equivalent
  • ability to speak, read, and write English
  • follow verbal and written instructions
  • communicate effectively orally and in writing
  • able to lift and carry children and objects up to 45lbs independently and over 45lbs with assistance
  • may drive government vehicle and obtain government driver’s license
  • prior experience working with children, youth or teens
  • complete DoD Standardized Module training and have requisite experience or credentials
  • satisfy all background checks per DoD and Marine Corps policy
  • pass pre-employment physicals
  • provide immunization evidence and be free from communicable disease
  • maintain food handlers, CPR and First Aid certifications
  • pass pre-employment and random drug testing

Job Qualifications

  • Be 18 years of age
  • possess a high school diploma or equivalent
  • prior experience working with children, youth, or teens
  • skill in implementing developmentally appropriate programming
  • completion of DoD Standardized Module training and 24 months experience at CY-II level or equivalent credentials
  • ability to speak, read, and write English effectively
  • completion of all required program assistant training levels
  • pass all background checks and pre-employment physicals
  • maintain current food handlers, CPR, and First Aid certifications
  • ability to follow verbal and written instructions and communicate effectively

Job Duties

  • Provide specialized developmental care and instruction for children and youth in DoD Children and Youth Programs
  • Serve as a mentor and trainer for assigned Child & Youth team
  • Plan, coordinate, and conduct activities and special events for participants
  • Maintain safety, control, and accountability for children and youth
  • Implement developmentally appropriate curriculum and behavior guidance
  • Communicate professionally with staff, parents, and installation personnel
  • Ensure compliance with Marine Corps and DoD standards and training requirements
