Job Requirements

  • History of programming and supervising children required
  • Ability to communicate effectively in fast-paced demanding environments
  • Knowledge of child life philosophy
  • Ability to maintain cleanliness and safety of play environments
  • Ability to collaborate with other departments and community partners
  • Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion
  • Compliance with safety and infection prevention guidelines

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma required
  • History of programming and supervising children required
  • Experience facilitating programs and events with hospitalized children and families preferred
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Competence in child life philosophy
  • Ability to individualize care for children of all ages
  • Ability to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion in activities and events

Job Duties

  • Plan and execute daily activities and special events that are recreational and therapeutic for patients and families
  • Support and assist with staffing coordination of associates and volunteer resources for activities and events
  • Promote family-centered care and enhance patient/family experience through engagement in activities and events
  • Maintain safe and clean play environments adhering to safe space philosophy
  • Collaborate with other departments and manage relationships with community partners
  • Develop and implement developmentally appropriate, psychosocially sound patient and family programming
  • Ensure volunteers are properly oriented to department roles and event procedures
