Job Requirements

  • FAA commercial pilot ASEL certificate
  • Minimum 1500 total flight hours including at least 500 fixed wing and 500 turbine engine hours
  • Minimum 500 cross-country flight hours
  • At least 100 night flight hours
  • Minimum 75 instrument flight hours
  • 8 or more years of professional flight operations experience
  • 2 or more years of flight test program or aviation leadership experience
  • Current second class FAA medical certificate or higher
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time

Job Qualifications

  • FAA commercial pilot ASEL with 1500 total flight hours
  • At least 500 fixed wing flight hours
  • At least 500 turbine engine flight hours
  • Minimum 500 cross-country flight hours
  • At least 100 night flight hours
  • Minimum 75 instrument flight hours
  • 8+ years of professional experience in flight operations
  • 2+ years of experience managing or performing flight test programs
  • Experience in tactical aircraft or similar operations
  • Current second class FAA medical certificate or higher
  • Graduate of an SETP recognized flight test school preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering or science preferred
  • Caravan or PT6A experience preferred
  • Diverse experience in multiple aircraft or airframes preferred
  • 2+ years experience as a CFI or military flight instructor preferred
  • Experience with automated or large remotely operated vehicles preferred
  • Experience in flight test programs focused on certification preferred
  • Experience developing flight procedures, training curricula, and safety management systems preferred
  • Experience flying for 14 CFR part 135 or 121 Air Carrier preferred
  • Deep understanding of FAA certification processes
  • Knowledge of systems engineering principles
  • Basic familiarity with software programming
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams independently

Job Duties

  • Serve as the primary experimental test pilot
  • Coordinate the training and scheduling of all contract pilots
  • Ensure all experimental flight operations are set up for safety and success
  • Coordinate with Part 135 airline operations to standardize pilot procedures
  • Develop and support an aviation safety system
  • Lead flight test program activities
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to develop and execute flight test plans
