Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Four years experience in procurement, food and beverage, culinary, or related professional area
  • OR two-year degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or related major
  • Two years experience in procurement, food and beverage, culinary, or related professional area
  • Strong leadership skills

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Manage daily kitchen utility operations including dish room, night cleaning, back dock maintenance, banquet plating, and food running
  • Supervise kitchen employees not engaged in cooking such as dishwashers and kitchen helpers
  • Order and manage supplies, equipment, and uniforms ensuring availability for staff
  • Schedule events, programs, and employee work assignments
  • Monitor inventory of food, equipment, serviceware, and liquor and report shortages
  • Inspect supplies, equipment, and work areas for service efficiency and standards compliance
  • Investigate employee accidents and enforce loss prevention policies
  • Enforce cleaning routines for serviceware, equipment, and floors, including dish room machinery
  • Ensure food holding and transport equipment is operational
  • Maintain compliance with food handling, sanitation, safety laws, and regulations
  • Communicate relevant information timely to executives, peers, and subordinates
  • Lead, motivate, and supervise staff fostering teamwork, trust, and cooperation
  • Provide leadership and direction aligned with departmental goals
  • Ensure productivity and performance goals are met or exceeded
  • Serve as a role model demonstrating appropriate professional behaviors
  • Recognize team contributions and celebrate successes
  • Manage day-to-day operations ensuring quality standards and guest satisfaction
