Job Requirements

  • Previous hotel engineering experience
  • Vocational training, associate's degree or certification in one or more relevant areas
  • State certification or licensure where required
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Flexibility to work varied schedules including nights, weekends and holidays
  • Teamwork and guest service orientation

Job Qualifications

  • Previous hotel engineering experience including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, commercial kitchen and building construction
  • Vocational training, associate's degree, certification or apprenticeship in relevant areas
  • State certification or licensure where required
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, diagrams and blueprints
  • Proficient in understanding test equipment and measuring devices
  • Strong verbal and written business communication skills
  • Ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends and holidays
  • Team-oriented mindset focused on guest experience

Job Duties

  • Making sure the hotel is in great working order and meets operational standards related to the Engineering Department
  • Conducting walk-throughs and assessments of maintenance and operation of the hotel structure, systems and equipment
  • Managing Rooms and Public Area Preventive Maintenance Program and keeping updated records
  • Collaborating with hotel management team and General Manager
  • Hiring, training, supervising, coaching and counseling associates including managers
  • Ensuring grounds maintenance for a great arrival experience
  • Implementing hotel safety and emergency policies and procedures including hazard removal and OSHA Hazcom program compliance
