Job Requirements

  • Must have at least a high school diploma or equivalent
  • 5 plus years of relevant engineering and supervisory experience
  • Must hold or be able to obtain any required local licenses such as Stationery Engineer license
  • Strong computer proficiency
  • Ability to pass background checks and drug screening
  • Must have a valid driver's license
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to follow safety protocols and procedures
  • Must be available to work Monday through Friday with some weekend or holiday shifts
  • Ability to travel occasionally as needed
  • Must be service oriented
  • Ability to handle physical demands of the job
  • Must be detail oriented and organized

Job Qualifications

  • Engineering degree or equivalent college or trade school experience
  • 5 plus years combination of education and hands-on work experience with complex electrical and mechanical systems
  • Stationery Engineers license if required
  • Solid supervisory and project planning experience
  • Advanced computer skills including Microsoft Office and web analytics tools
  • Experience in construction trades such as plumbing, electrical, carpentry, HVAC
  • Strong mathematical skills to interpret building systems
  • Ability to drive a pick-up truck
  • Knowledge of property safety and security procedures
  • Excellent customer service and sales skills
  • Effective communication skills in English
  • Energetic and outgoing personality
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and as a team player
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficient typing skills and data management
  • Confidentiality and discretion

Job Duties

  • Manage and administer programs involving electrical, mechanical and general construction, repair and maintenance of facilities and equipment
  • Visually inspect quality of work and direct staff and outside contractors
  • Plan, prepare and monitor special projects
  • Assign work orders to staff and monitor progress
  • Maintain building exterior, parking lot, guest room equipment, conduct safety inspections and train staff
  • Oversee hotel safety and green program including trash removal and recycling
  • Manage all life/safety systems including fire, elevators, emergency lighting and generating systems
  • Supervise engineering staff including hiring, training, scheduling, payroll, coaching, evaluations and discipline
  • Manage remodeling projects and capital expenditures including budget estimates, cost tracking and contract negotiation
  • Communicate with city officials to maintain permits and licenses
  • Act as liaison to vendors for hotel technology and energy programs
  • Monitor energy conservation programs
